Edwards Kirby Attorneys Support 2019 HIE Awareness Month
The month of April has been designated HIE Awareness Month – a month-long observance that sees and outpouring of support for children and families living with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, a type of neurological brain damage in infants which can occur during childbirth.
As a Civil Trial Practice with a long history of fighting for injured victims and families, Edwards Kirby is all too familiar with the immense psychological and financial toll that can accompany birth injures like HIE – especially when they arise from medical malpractice.
This month, we’d like to show our support for HIE Awareness Month, an initiative started by the grassroots Hope for HIE organization.
“Hope Never Ends”
Led solely through the selfless work of volunteers, Hope for HIE has grown from a small support Facebook group to one of the world’s leading advocacy networks focusing on promoting awareness, education, and resources for families across the world.
For HIE Awareness Month 2019, Hope for HIE ‘s theme, “Hope Never Ends,” provides an opportunity to let families worldwide know that support, research, and advocacy efforts surrounding HIE are only growing.
Because the campaign is all about spreading awareness, Hope for HIE encourages anyone who would like to get involved to:
- Visit HopeforHIE.com to learn about this year’s campaign and find helpful resources and tools that can be used to organize community events, engage in meaningful dialogue with friends and family, and show your support for families worldwide;
- Use social media to spread the message and promote further awareness about HIE, whether by using free tools and images from Hope for HIE, or by tagging HIE-related posts using #HOPEneverends;
- Attending local events or activities in your community, or using printable resources and other materials to plan one of your own.
If you’d like to get involved, Hope for HIE’s website is a great place to find the information, downloadable tools, and resources you need.
