Bio

Andrew Avram is a Raleigh native with litigation experience in cases involving
serious injury, car accidents, truck accidents, medical malpractice, workplace accidents, construction accidents, wrongful death, products liability, environmental
contamination, sexual assault, and employment law.

As Head of Intake, Andrew Avram is a key part of our team. In that role, he
works directly with our newest clients from the time they first contact us.
Andrew helps people who come to us at a very difficult time in their life, and
ushers them through the legal process and what to expect. He takes pride in
making sure clients get the attention they need from the start, and go on to get
the justice that they deserve.

Andrew is a fourth-generation attorney from Raleigh, North Carolina.  After
working in sales and marketing in Washington, D.C. for several years, he
followed in his family’s footsteps to study law, and began his legal career in
Raleigh working in the general liability and medical malpractice groups of a
respected insurance defense firm. Prior to joining Edwards Kirby, he worked
as an attorney for an elite defense firm primarily litigating claims for sexual
harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and business disputes.

Andrew’s background and skill set make him an invaluable asset to the injured
and wronged clients seeking compensation in the civil justice system.  Having
worked on the defense side for personal injury, medical malpractice, and
employment related cases, Andrew has cultivated extensive knowledge of the
“other side” and tricks of the trade used by insurance companies and
corporate defendants.  He leverages this insight to help clients obtain
favorable results in a range of difficult, high stakes claims.

Andrew cares deeply for his clients and has demonstrated an ability to relate
to the individuals and families that he represents.  He handles each case with
attention he would want if he were in the client’s position and prides himself
on his responsiveness and attention to detail.

Throughout his legal career, Andrew has enjoyed considerable success in
state and federal courts.  Andrew has been victorious as first chair counsel in
North Carolina District Court bench trials and as second chair counsel in North
Carolina Superior Court jury trials. He has also obtained favorable results in
arbitration proceedings and administrative hearings.  Most recently, Andrew has
become an integral member of Edwards Kirby’s Camp Lejeune litigation team.

Andrew is an active member of Christ Church, the North Carolina Bar
Association Young Lawyers Division and, when not practicing law, enjoys
playing golf, surfing, and nearly anything outdoors.  Andrew lives in Raleigh
with his wife, Myers, and their son, Craft.
