Edwards Kirby Has 3 of State’s Top 4 Personal Injury Settlements in 2016

Raleigh, N.C. (February 16, 2017) Three of the four largest personal injury settlements in North Carolina last year were handled by Edwards Kirby lawyers, according to N.C. Lawyers Weekly, a statewide legal newspaper.

The largest personal injury settlement in North Carolina was a $6 million settlement of a child who was paralyzed after she was injured at a recreation center. Attorney John Edwards of Edwards Kirby handled that case.

Second was a settlement in which a law enforcement officer was killed by a tractor-trailer that toppled over on his vehicle, at $5.35 million. David Kirby and Bill Bystrynski of the firm handled that case.

The fourth largest settlement was $3.75 million for a man injured when a tractor-trailer ran a red light, injuring him. David Kirby and Bill Bystrynski handled that case for the firm.
